For a one-of-a-kind escape during your Disney World vacation, make your way to the Belle Vue Lounge at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. This plush, yet inviting hideaway lounge offers a ritzy, but relaxed vibe and transports you back to the 1930s Atlantic City days with its Prohibition-era speakeasy aesthetics.
As soon as you turn the corner from the hall leading to the lobby, you’ll find an area where the furniture is arranged in an inviting manner. The interior design features wood flooring and vintage accents throughout, giving off an elegant yet almost homey vibe. Sink into one of the comfy couches or chairs and let the vintage radio melodies transport you back to 1930s enchantment, heightening the retro atmosphere.
In the late afternoon, the room is filled with natural light from the large windows that line one wall, providing a beautiful view of the courtyard. Sit out on the verandah with your well-crafted cocktail and take in the sights of the Boardwalk and the Crescent Lake horizon.
The drinks menu also opts for a taste of the times with Prohibition-style craft cocktails. Mrs. Cocktailor and our daughter opted for the following, respectively:
- Sparkling Hibiscus – Helix7 Vodka, Sorel Liqueur, Lemon, Honey, and Grapefruit Soda.
- Belle Vue Cosmopolitan – Belvedere Vodka, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Cranberry Juice, and Lime Juice.
But don’t sleep on the specialty cocktails! When we were there in October 2023, an original cocktail by Belle Vue bartender Megan was on offer and I had to try it:
- Bourbon and Berries – Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Black Tea, Orange Blossom Honey, Blackberry and Lemon.
… easily one of the Top 2 cocktails I had the entire trip!
Belle Vue Lounge is a Disney Cocktailor favorite — possibly THE favorite in all of Walt Disney World. The quality of the cocktails, the intimate size (it is very small) and quiet atmosphere provides a level of relaxation that is hard to match elsewhere on property. I will make every effort to return during my future trips.
So for an elevated taste of the old days during your Disney’s Boardwalk travels, make time for the Belle Vue Lounge. Sip thoughtfully-prepared cocktails while reveling in the refined retro vibes of this unique Disney venue. It’s the bee’s knees!
